Photography Class

Week 2

Our assignment was to explore one subject and take pictures of it from different angles and ranges. I chose to use my Onewheel Pint as my subject.

Week 4.1

This week we our main assignment was to take macro pictures of a subject. I chose to shrink my subject to help illustrate how big the world really can be.

Week 4.2

The second part of our assignment was to use a mobile editing software to enhance our photos. The photos where to be taken on our phones so I chose one of my favorite subjects, my boy Kevin and his friend Odin.

Week 5

On this week we where tasked with showing depth of field for the first time. we had to produce two sets of photos. In each set we had to show a photo with focus on the foreground, focus on the background, and with everything in focus.

Week 6

With the practice from our previous week, we were tasked with applying our new skills with one addition. We where to show depth of field but also show examples of different keys of light.

Week 7

This week I took out all the stops and got to shoot my absolute favorite subject. I tend to prefer scenic photography but if I’m going to have to take black and white portraits of anyone, its going to be her.

Week 9

Photography captures the very instant in time down to the millisecond, but you still can express motion through a flat image. It wasn’t too hard to convince some friends to take some toys for a ride on a nice day to help show off some motion.

Week 10

After week nine we started to transition to using editing software along with new or existing photos we have taken. In this week we where exploring the Rule of Thirds with symmetrical and asymmetrical balance.

Week 12

Continuing with our exploration with photo editing software. We explored the use of the burn and dodge tool to darken or lighten a photo

Week 13

This week we explored the use of Value, Hue, and saturation. I made a collage of the four edits to help show each alteration separately

The Final

Our final was to create a series of photos that helps depict through a theme. I chose to depict the coming and going of the airport. Here is a link to the portfolio.
